Tonight, Kyle, Connor and I went to the Sullivan South HS vs. West Knox football game. I was so excited that South was playing so close to our new home. I saw familiar faces and faces of little babies that are now cheerleaders! I was thinking about how not much has changed and that I would love to tell these kids that just a few years ago (OK- like 15 years ago) I was able to flip backwards and lead the same cheers. That Friday night football smell was in the air. I sware I was loving every minute of it. South was doing well. We were ahead by 21 in the 3rd quarter and West was getting close to scoring. That is when tragedy struck. One of our players just did not get up after a play. He just layed there. We knew it was not good when more people were called onto the field and then they started CPR- in front of everyone. I am sure that I will never in my life forget that moment. I have been a part of the South family that has lost so many people. I thought to myself- this is not the first time tragedy has struck this school/team/community in front of everyone. Players, bands members, cheerleaders, moms, dads,grandparents, and little kids. We all witnessed it. His mom and dad were there. He passed away. I will hold my son and husband tight tonight as I sleep(if that is possible) and pray hard
for his family and my alma mater.
I took a few photos that I was planning on posting and actually just making fun of myself but now they hold a lot more meaning.
Above is pre-game. Players walk out on the field with helmets held high during the coin toss. I am almost positive this was started my freshman year. I was so happy to see it was still done.
I planned to make this my new facebook profile pic for a little while. See, I really was into the game. I told these girls I wanted a photo and that I was a South cheerleader. Not sure they were too impressed. This was right before the start of the 3rd quarter. 
More people were there from Kingsport than the opposing team!!
This photo was taken while they were working on the player. Both teams came together and prayed on the field. I think they started CPR right after I took this photo. Once he was taken off the field the game was called. Please pray for the South community and especially the family of # 54 Jake Logue.
