Phi Mu 100 Year Celebration

Two weeks ago me, Kyle and Connor made the trek to knoxville for the celebration of 100 years of the Kappa chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity. Anyone who reads this blog knows how active I was in Phi Mu during college and most of you know that I was SUPER EXCITED about this weekend. A few of us met for lunch at Calhoun's on the river. Afterwards we went to the suite. Below is the photo we took. I am certain that the actives in the suite thought we were crazy. We wanted Mary, Mary and Martha ( Phi Mu's founders) in our photo since they are the only photo left in the suite that we were familiar with since redecorating. Oh,the carpet is still there but the peach walls are gone and the curtains have been updated. The Phi Mu letters are now polka dotted. A few things remain the same- 1.the smell of panhellenic- not sure if that will ever change 2. That the Phi Mu's are still the best and prettiest ladies on Tennessee's campus!!!!!
My pledge sister (and soon to be sorta neighbor) Amy Fletcher Noland

Active and Alumni- Those actives sure do get dressed up these days for football games. I was going for warmth and they were going for fashion. Oh- notice that there is a little boy in the photo.

Friday Night Dinner. Shelley, Amy,Me, Christina,Jenny,Mahlon,Jennifer and Cami. The left half is members of pledge call of 1994 and the right half is 1995!

Connor's first UT game. Words cannot express how sad I was to take him to such a bad game. He felt like the rest of us- BORED. So he decided to sleep. In the beginning he was clapping and yelling for both teams. It just wore him out!!

Before the game in lot 21. No one was there!!

Kyle and Andy (aka Fetus) discussing important issues

Ayers Hall- The campus is beautiful. Best I've ever seen it.
Too bad the football team stinks!! Oh well- BRUCE PEARL IS AWESOME!!! BRING ON THE BASKETBALL!!

Happy Halloween

Since election day is close why not lead off this blog with a little halloween humor. It was the first time Kyle and I got in the spirit to dress up.
Layney and Connor at their first house for Trick or Treat!!

They enjoyed giving out candy. They would throw it at the bags of the kids at the doors!!

Layney-- a spider with a cape..

We were at Jeannie and Roger's house since they have tons of trick or treaters. Connor liked going in and out of the "monkey cage"

Mommy and her cute little monkey

Checking out his monkey belly

Sitting with his pumpkins. He decorated the one on the right.

Connor and his Girls!!

One of Connor's and Papaw's favorite things to do while at the farm is feed the cows (or moo's). This photo is classic Bruce-wearing his orange jersey proudly even though at the time of this photo Georgia was beating us. So Papaw decided to return to the game...Connor looking at his moo's
Avery- being the Mississippi girl that she is- decides she wants to see the moo's too. She tells Connor that in Miss. there are alligators so she is not scared of the moo's....

However- Layney would not have her Connor talking to some little girl from Mississippi! No way was she gonna let her in on the action. So all three were up on the fence looking at the moo's.

If you are wondering..Connor and Layney are one day apart. Avery is about 6 weeks older...

Everyone checking out the moo's!!!

Horseshoe Bend Farm Fun Part 2

This photo pretty much captures the fun the kids hand in early October at the farm. It was a beautiful day
Even Maggie got in on the fun

What would a halloween/fall party be without some time in the cemetary?

Not sure what Max was doing but it was cute.

Stickley Farm

We went to Stickley Farm with friends Andy, Dylan, and Layney. Connor checked out all the pumpkins before deciding on two.

He liked to see how well they would support him. That was one of his decision making processes.

Kyle and Justin with the kids on the hayride

Trying to get everyone to pose for a photo.

Working the John Deere- Just like Papaw. I didn't have the heart to tell him the wheels were broken!
